The theologian Carl Henry died in 2003. Almost all of his work was published in the 20th century. So why should we be reading him now?
The many reasons include his credentials and qualifications, his wide-ranging influence as one of the founders of the modern evangelical movement, his godly character, and his works. His major works include his magnum opus, God, Revelation and Authority, a six volume set published from 1976-1983.
God, Revelation and Authority is a great work of systematic theology which covers such topics as the knowledge of God, the doctrine of revelation, the authority of Scripture, the role of each member of the Trinity, and the kingdom of God.
In recent years, Henry’s work has come under scrutiny, and this series of essays attempts to rebut some of the criticism voiced against Henry and God, Revelation and Authority. A bibliography is provided for further study.
