God is Unchangeable

“Remember those who rule over you, who have spoken the word of God to you, whose faith follow, considering the outcome of their conduct” (Hebrews 13:7).

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8).

Dear Praying Friends:

In the United States, today is Memorial Day, when we remember those who have died while serving their country.

The Bible is replete with stories of men and women who, by faith, followed God. Chapter 11 of Hebrews briefly records the stories of some those “who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens,” and did much more (Hebrews 11:33-34).

As you know, my major literary project consists of recording the lives of missionaries and Chinese Christians who sought, by word and deed, to bring glory to God the Father and to his Son Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit. I encourage you to browse the pages of the Biographical Dictionary of Chinese Christianity (bdcconline.net), where you will find recent additions, including a short article about a Chinese martyr, as well as longer ones on missionaries.

On Memorial Day, we also honor those who served well in the military and were allowed by God to survive. As I read articles about my father, who was a highly decorated World War II hero, I was especially moved by the citations connected to the awards conferred upon him (epnaao.com/BIOS_files/ALL_MEMBERS/Doyle-%20Austin%20K.pdf). (Though very full, this article did not mention the Order of the Sacred Tripod with Grand Cordon, given by the Republic of China for contributions to national security. I was present when President Chiang Kai-shek presented this beautiful medal to him in 1958. You can find a description and picture of it at en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Order_of_the_Sacred_Tripod).

You can also view a filmed interview of me telling stories about my father at https://youtu.be/kpNEYyk4Ktg. It begins with a brief narrative of my spiritual pilgrimage.

Yours in his unchanging love and power,
 Wright
