The Lord is our Shepherd

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want [lack]” (Psalm 23:1).

Dear Praying Friends:

In his sermon yesterday, the pastor reminded us that this passage doesn’t promise that we will never be in a position of difficulty or need. After all, Jesus promised, “In the world you have tribulation [trouble]” (John 16:33).

“But,” the Lord continued, “be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” So, our pastor reminded us that we will not lack “any good thing” that we need to know and serve God, and that he will be with us, even in the valley of the shadow of death (Psalm 23:4; Matthew 7:11).

“The LORD will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly” (Psalm 84:11).

Yours in the care of our Good Shepherd,
Wright
