China Institute

Jesus said, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 20:19).
Dear Praying Friends:
This “Great Commission” has never been revoked, and it remains in force for all believers today.
Currently, there are about 1.4 billion Chinese living in Mainland China. Starting about 2018, foreigners have not been able to work as Christian witnesses among them.
On the other hand, about 70 million ethnic Chinese live outside of Mainland China, including about 5 million in the United States alone. These people, many of whom speak or read English, are entirely accessible to the gospel, and it is both our privilege and duty to do all we can to bring the Good News to them.
Since 1990, China Institute has pursued two goals: (1) To reach Chinese, especially those who are educated, with “the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:27), and (2) To mobilize and equip Christians to participate in this great endeavor.
We do this by prayer, publications in print and online, personal relationships, and oral presentations.
Our Reaching Chinese Worldwide website stands at the heart of this ministry.
On the home page www.reachingchineseworldwide.org, you will find recent blog posts, which include devotional messages taken from my weekly prayer update. You can subscribe to this update by writing to me at wrightdoyle@gmail.com. You will also find the latest book review, about the newest history of Christianity in China, Darkest before the Dawn, by Richard Cook.
The About page tells what we do, our story and vision, our team, and our contact information. The Blog features dozens of devotional messages and reviews of books about Christianity in China. The Newsletter section provides monthly prayer letters going back twenty years, and trace our growth, strategy, difficulties, and lessons learned from God.
The bulk of the material on this website is found in the Books section. First, there is a full list of books by me in print, followed by a catalogue of literally thousands of pages of resources of many sorts available to you as free PDF downloads.
There are substantial studies (all still in progress), of three theologians: Carl Henry, Augustine, and Lit-sen Chang (Zhang Lisheng). You will also find the first part of my autobiography and three substantial collections of book reviews about Chinese Christianity, the Missions Movement in China, and Chinese Christianity in Context. Confucius and Christ: The Sage and the Savior compares and contrasts these two massively influential men.
Biblical studies include Your Part in God’s Plan: Essays on Ephesians and Truth and Life, more than 2,000 pages of simple chapter-by-chapter commentary on the doctrinal and ethical teaching of the Bible (still in progress).
The Way Home: A Faith for the 21st Century presents the Luce Theological Lectures that I delivered in Taiwan in the early 2000s.
10+10=?: A Challenge to You. Would you please take at least ten minutes to browse the resources on this website? And then, if you have found it useful, would you share the link with at least ten of your friends? Thank you!
Oh – Be sure to enjoy the dozens of striking images inserted by our editorial assistants!
Your fellow witness of our risen Lord and Savior,
Wright
