“Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come to You. Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline your ear to me; in the day that I call, answer me speedily. . . . He shall regard the prayer of the destitute, and shall not despise their prayer” (Psalm 101:1-2, 17).
Dear Praying Friends:
The psalmist was truly destitute.
His body was reduced to skin and bones; his heart was “stricken and withered like grass” so that he forgot to eat. He was all alone, as if in a wilderness, yet his enemies surrounded him and spoke scornful words. He was utterly weak and deprived of strength.
Yet he trusted in God, that the Lord would hear and answer the desperate cries of a destitute man.
Perhaps you are destitute, too, though your condition may not be as bad as his. You may feel alone and isolated and totally without resources to face life. Most people do at some times.
God will hear your prayers and come to you, in his own way and time.
“O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh will come” (Psalm 65:2).
