“Trust in the LORD . . . dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the LORD . . . Commit your way to the LORD, trust also in Him . . . Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him” (Psalm 37:3-5, 7).

Notice the core of his counsel: Look to God! Trust in him; delight in him; commit everything to him; rest in him; wait patiently for him to “show up.” Isaiah told the exiled Israelites, “Behold your God!” (Isaiah 40:9).

And we should especially meditate upon his assurance that he will be with us at all times (see Matthew 20:28).
This speaks to me today, because I woke up eager to resume writing and calling people but felt wiped out by a cold that kept me in bed all morning. I’m sure you face your set of “enemies” that threaten to discourage you. Let’s keep our eyes on God, not on ourselves or our circumstances. He will give, do, and be all that we need – and more!
“The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; He is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD shall help them and deliver them . . . and save them, because they trust in Him” (Psalm 37:39-40).
